The Passover of Haggadah is also signified by the washing of hands[1], which is a text that is found in the gospel books of Luke and Paul. The washing of hands is significant in the fact that the rite was a holy ritual and the participants are expected to be worthy of the ritual. In the book of exodus, for example, the Israelites were expected to observe the feast in a way that they would not be with any blemish. In fact, the animals chosen for slaughter were supposed to be pure and without blemish. The Passover of Haggadah has continued to selectively use this text, and in their own ritual, there the ritual washing of hands. The gospel books of Luke and Paul on the other hand requires the participants to consecrate themselves before taking the wine during the Passover in order not to bring judgment upon themselves. This is a similar patter in the three types of rituals. There is the significant need for holiness, cleanliness and sanctification before anyone can partake of any drink in the feast.
