In particular, it is important to understand the impact of various processes, organizations and institutions in influencing people. Among the most critical factors with regards to this include peer relations, education, family, as well as employment. People who have a positive self-image tend to resist criminal activities. Human behavior is controlled by different social processes. These include, social learning theory, the labelling theory, as well as social control theory. Crime, in particular, comes about when an individual learns the behaviors, norms and values linked to criminal activity.
