Answer preview

The “Uncanny” remains to be one of the critical works of psychoanalytic criticism which shifted away from analysis of writers to concentrate on themes currently in literature which make the reader uneasy. In this journal, the author has attempted to give his definition of “uncanny”. According to the author, “uncanny” is terminology that means something which was once frightening but it is familiar. At the start of “uncanny” the author perceives that the uncanny is that kind of dread which comes back to which is long familiar. In that sense, it remains clear that the uncanny is something that is new and remains in existence in something that is already familiar.
