Healthcare, as a basic human right, should be considered so by implementing the program. Everyone in the country deserves quality health care regardless of gender, age or economic wellbeing. The country is characterized by a range of private health covers, but they cover high-income earners as not everyone can meet the periodic premium payments (Jain & Alam, 2017). Although private health insurance seems like an effective scheme for subscribers, it would become more beneficial for the country to guarantee health of all people. The universal healthcare system would not only ensure affordability of healthcare services, but also ensure no discrimination based on income differences.

Further, the country should implement universal healthcare to improve the overall public health. The programs ensure a uniform spread of costs across the entire population, ensuring that everyone can access basic care. This type of health cover improves the health of the entire population, particularly because everyone in the country can access medical services (Jain & Alam, 2017).  Therefore, the general population benefits through reduced cases of illnesses, saving costs and fostering individual and collective productivity.
