Title VII is a federal legislation forbidding most of the workplace discrimination and harassment. Notably, Title VII covers all local and state governments, private employers and learning institutions with fifteen or more employees. In addition to forbidding discrimination against employee because of religion, sec, national origin and race, those protections have been expanded in order to include excluding against discrimination on the ground of sex, stereotyping, pregnancy and sexual harassment of the workforce. It is clear that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act is impacting contemporary businesses in different ways.
