Quality is considered as the most important factor of warehouse management. While the rest of warehouse operations could be effective, poor quality would indicate an overall ineffectiveness of warehouse managers (Chen et al., 2017).Underestimating inspection and quality may result in unnecessary cost implications (Chen et al., 2017). For example, costs accumulate when transporting the wrong or lower quality products to the customers and back. However, studies have revealed substantial challenges of dealing with quality while maintaining productivity and efficiency (Faber et al., 2013). Focusing on productivity alone may substantially reduce quality as detecting errors and anomalies become major challenges. To align quality with productivity and efficiency, Slack et al. (2010) recommend that warehouse management should have good leadership. For example, the ability to maintain standardization, identify errors and manage costs of quality-related operations.  In another study, Palšaitis et al. (2017) demonstrated quality control as a strategy towards efficiency across the supply chain. Focusing the attention of management on quality of orders, inspection and adjustment practices for every order can substantially improve operational efficiency. One of the most recommended approaches to quality and efficiency sustainability is the establishment of solid quality control techniques during order fulfillment and training people to undertake inspection and detect possible anomalies (Assis & Sagawa, 2018). This underscores the need for a strong quality control team to verify processes and packaging during order fulfillment.
