Part II: Initialization and logout files

You may already have one or more initialization files on yourASU profile that were created by the system administrator.

All lines starting with # are comments in a shell script. Whencreating initialization files, use # to explain the purpose of acommand or a series of command. For example, the following line inyour initialization file is for clarification purpose and will notaffect the script:

All initialization files are dotfiles.

Make a backup copy of all your initialization files. We willcreate new ones. When you complete this assignment, you can revertto your original files.
